Attorney General Griffin Announces Arrest of Jacksonville Man for Possession of Child Pornography

LITTLE ROCK – Attorney General Tim Griffin today issued the following statement after agents from his Special Investigations Division (SID) arrested Micheal Heird, 43, of Jacksonville, on 14 counts of pandering or possession of visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child:

“On August 12, SID executed a search warrant of a residence after receiving a cybertip from Google. A device that was found in Heird’s possession contained multiple images of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). As a result of the search warrant, multiple electronic devices were seized for further examination. Heird was arrested and booked in the Pulaski County Detention Facility.

“This is a sickening crime that exploits innocent children, and anyone who engages in this horrific conduct will be identified and arrested. I applaud SID’s exceptional work in investigating this case, and I appreciate the Jacksonville Police Department, Homeland Security Investigations, and Metropolitan Emergency Medical Services for their assistance in this arrest.”
